Dr. Bayo Arowolaju Jr. is the Chief Servant Officer (CSO) of the Bayo Arowolaju Foundation (BAF), a fast-growing nonprofit organization in the United States and Nigeria. The kernel of BAF’s operation and activities is the quest and Commitment to Restoring Hope and Improving Lives One Community at a Time.

A consummate, seasoned clinician, and healthcare administrator, Dr. Arowolaju brings several years of experience in community service, human capital and organizational development in both private and public sectors.

Dr. Arowolaju oversees and leads BAF’s strategy to mobilize human and financial resources to meeting the needs of the various communities where BAF operates. His many years of experience is an asset in leading and ensuring that BAF’s vision is fully and successfully achieved. He collaborates effectively with BAF Board of Directors comprising of community, education, medical and business leaders to ensure smooth execution of BAF’s operation.

In another professional capacity, Dr. Arowolaju serves as the Chief, Healthcare Risk Management and Deputy Chief Quality Officer at the Department of Defense Health Agency’s National Capital Region Market in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area. Prior to joining Department of Defense, he served as the Service Chief of Medical Surgical Unit at the U.S. President’s Hospital, The Walter Reed National Medical Center (WRNMMC) Bethesda, Maryland USA. In his roles, he was responsible for the management of almost $2million budget and over 70 staff that included military personnel, civilians, and contractors who provided quality, reliable and safe healthcare to over 3,000 active-duty military patients and their beneficiaries.

Dr. Arowolaju brings several years of experience in community service, hospital management, healthcare research, and organizational development in private and public sectors in the U.S.A. and around the world. His many years of experience is an asset in leading and ensuring that BAF’s vision is fully and successfully achieved. Dr. Arowolaju collaborates effectively with BAF Board of Directors comprising of community, medical and business leaders to ensure the smooth running of BAF operation.

Dr. Arowolaju holds a Bachelor in Science Degree in Nursing from Howard University, Washington D.C., USA; Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), Master’s in Healthcare Administration (MHA) both from the University of Maryland, USA; and a PhD in Medical Sociology and Social Inequality from Howard University, Washington D.C., USA. He received a Certificate in Patient Safety from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, USA. He is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).

A recipient of the Yale University-and-Howard University Research Scholar Award in the United States, Dr. Arowolaju is an Adjunct Professor of Healthcare and Business Administration at Liberty University, Lynchburg Virginia, U.S.A. His areas of interest are: impacts of socio-determinants of health on health outcomes, Leadership engagement and high reliability organization, and the roles of private and public sector organizations in community health outcomes—accessibility, availability, and affordability of quality and safe health care.

Dr. Arowolaju is a Senior Executive Fellow of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA and Member, American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
