A USA and Nigeria-based non-profit foundation, Bayo Arowolaju Foundation (BAF) has launched its website and social media platforms. Speaking during a youth get together in Lagos Nigeria, the foundation’s Director for media and publicity, Mr. Kolawole Ajayi said the world has now become a global village, hence, the need to launch social media platforms to reach a wider range of people.
The Media Director said BAF can now be found on social media platforms—Facebook @baffoundation, Instagram @baffoundation, Twitter @baf_foundation, YouTube Bayo Arowolaju Foundation and on the web: www.baffoundation.org.
Mr. Ajayi said the vision of the foundation is to ultimately build a healthier and sustainable community where justice, fairness and equity become the new order. He however stated that the vision is not achievable without engaging and improving the lives of the less privileged member of the society by deploying resources to support and rejuvenate their loss and/or abandoned potentials. The media Director further commended the President and CEO of BAF, Dr. Bayo Arowolaju II, for his commitment and effort in leading and engaging the organization’s Board of Directors as well as people of like-minds, to fostering its mission in every community BAF operates at home and abroad.
Mr. Ajayi reminded the gathering that to mark BAF’s 2017 end of the year activities, the organization organized quiz competitions for secondary school students from four communities in Ekiti East Local Government Area of Ekiti State. The students represented Ekamefa High School, Ilasa Ekiti, Methodist High School, Isinbode Ekiti, Victory Academy, Kota Ekiti and God’s Brightest Kiddies’ Model College, Omuooke Ekiti respectively.
At the end of the competition, students from Methodist High School, Isinbode Ekiti, were victorious while Victory Academy, Kota Ekiti came second and God’s Brightest Kiddies’ Model College, Omuooke Ekiti came third.
Awards and recognition were given to the students to include laptop, android phones and financial awards. Awards were also given to Presidents of students’ unions that have links with the local government area.
They were Ogunleye Aderope of Kota Students Union (KOSU), Olatunde Temitope of Federation of Ekiti East Students’ Union (FEESU), Ariyo Femi of Federation of Omuooke Ajire Students (FOAST), Akinbobola Banji of Federation of Isinbode Students’ Union (FISU) and Olajide Samuel of Omuo Students’ Union (OSU).
